2. What This Extension Does

Privacy Blur for WhatsApp blurs sensitive content (messages, contact names, chat previews, profile photos, media, compose text, and status details) on WhatsApp Web during screen sharing, video calls, and presentations. It operates primarily client-side within your browser on web.whatsapp.com.

3. Data We Collect

We collect minimal data:

4. What Leaves Your Browser

Very little. This extension performs its blur logic locally. External communication is limited to:

Payment processing: When you start a trial, upgrade, log in, or manage billing, a payment provider handles payment-related flows. If you provide an email address during billing, it is handled by that provider.
Browser sync: If enabled by your browser, your extension preferences may sync across your browsers.
Anonymous analytics: The extension sends non-content analytics events to an analytics provider, tagged with a random device ID, app version, and event metadata such as which blur zone was toggled.

We do not operate an app backend that receives your WhatsApp chats. No message content, media content, or phone-book-style contact data is sent to Amrita Labs.

7. Data Retention & Deletion

Extension preferences and local identifiers: deleted when you uninstall the extension or clear extension data
Analytics events: retained by analytics providers under their applicable policies
Payment records: retained by payment providers under their applicable policies
We retain no server-side copy of your WhatsApp messages or media

To delete local extension data: uninstall the extension and clear any remaining browser extension storage. For billing records, contact the payment provider where applicable.

8. Children's Privacy

This extension is not intended for users under 13 (COPPA) or under 16 in the EU (GDPR). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

9. Security

Blur logic runs locally on WhatsApp Web in your browser
No custom Amrita Labs server receives WhatsApp chat content
Payment details are handled by payment providers
Anonymous analytics only — no chat text or media payloads
Extension access is limited to web.whatsapp.com plus payment callback pages needed for billing flow

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy at any time. Material changes will be communicated via the extension's update notes and by updating the "Last Updated" date above. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
