Privacy Policy — Privacy Blur for Slack
Effective Date: 2026-07-19 · Last Updated: 2026-07-19
1. Who We Are
Privacy Blur for Slack is operated by Amrita Labs, based in Canada.
Contact: hello@amrita-labs.com
2. What This Extension Does
Privacy Blur for Slack blurs sensitive content (messages, sender names, channel lists, and media) on Slack Web during screen sharing, video calls, and presentations. It operates entirely client-side within your browser.
3. Data We Collect
We collect minimal data:
| Category | What | Why | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|
| User preferences | Zone toggles, custom rules, trial timestamp | Persist settings across sessions (Pro only) | Stored locally in chrome.storage.sync — never sent to any server |
| Payment status | Paid/unpaid flag via ExtensionPay | Unlock Pro features | Managed by ExtensionPay (Stripe) |
We do NOT collect:
- Slack message content — we cannot read your messages
- Sender names, channel names, or any text content
- Browsing history or page URLs
- Screenshots or screen recordings
- Any personally identifiable information
- Analytics or usage telemetry sent to external servers
4. What Leaves Your Browser
Almost nothing. This extension operates 100% client-side. The only external communication is:
- Payment processing: When you choose to upgrade, ExtensionPay communicates with Stripe to process payment. Your email (if provided for trial) and payment details are handled by Stripe — we never see your card number.
- chrome.storage.sync: Your preferences sync across your Chrome browsers via Google's built-in sync infrastructure. This is a Chrome platform feature, not our server.
We have zero backend servers. No Slack data, message content, or user behavior is ever transmitted anywhere.
5. Third-Party Services
| Service | Data shared | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| ExtensionPay / Stripe | Email (if provided), payment info | Subscription billing |
| Chrome Sync (Google) | Extension preferences | Settings persistence across devices |
We do NOT use analytics services, advertising networks, or data brokers. We do NOT sell, share, or rent your data.
