Privacy Policy — Privacy Blur for Teams
Effective Date: 2026-07-22 · Last Updated: 2026-07-22
Summary
Privacy Blur for Teams does not collect, store, or transmit any of your Teams messages, contact names, meeting notes, files, or personal data. The extension runs locally in your browser on teams.cloud.microsoft. No Teams content leaves your device.
Data We Do NOT Collect
- Message content, sender names, conversation titles, or meeting chat text
- Files, screenshots, images, videos, or attachments shared in Teams
- Your Microsoft credentials, login tokens, or account details
- Browsing history or activity outside of
teams.cloud.microsoft - Any personally identifiable information (PII) from your Teams workspace
Data We Store Locally
The following is stored in chrome.storage.sync (synced across your Chrome browsers, never sent to our servers unless stated below for analytics or billing):
- Your blur zone preferences (which zones are enabled or disabled)
- Hover-to-reveal and blur intensity settings
- Custom keyword rules such as salary, OTP, or invoice
- Panel position and other local UI preferences
- Trial start timestamp and premium access state
Analytics
We collect minimal, anonymous usage events via PostHog to understand which features are used and whether the extension is working reliably. Example events include extension installed, blur toggled, and paywall viewed. These events may contain:
- A random anonymous ID generated by the extension
- Event name and basic product properties (for example, which zone was toggled)
- Extension version and coarse product metadata
We do not collect Teams message content, sender names, conversation titles, chat previews, or any text that identifies you or your organization.
Payments
Premium features are processed by ExtensionPay (powered by Stripe). We never see or store your payment card details. Stripe handles payment data under its own privacy policy.
Permissions
- storage: Save your blur preferences, keyword rules, and settings across sessions
- host_permissions (teams.cloud.microsoft): Inject the blur overlay on Microsoft Teams Web only
Third-Party Services
- PostHog (anonymous analytics) — Privacy Policy
- ExtensionPay / Stripe (payments) — Privacy Policy
Retention
Local preferences remain stored until you uninstall the extension or clear browser data. Anonymous analytics events are retained under our PostHog retention settings (currently up to 12 months) and then deleted or aggregated. Billing records are retained by ExtensionPay and Stripe according to their policies.
Rights
You can delete local extension data by uninstalling the extension or clearing extension storage. To request deletion of anonymous analytics data or ask a privacy question, contact us at hello@amrita-labs.com.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted at this URL. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
